Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Sunderland office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
4. Picking Up and Dropping Off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Sunderland, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. We will complete a vehicle condition report that you will need to sign. When returning the vehicle, please ensure it is in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. Engaging in racing, rallying, or off-roading is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited. Ensure the vehicle is used within designated passenger and weight limits, and avoid driving outside agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by law in England and Wales, Car Hire Sunderland will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our liability for any claims is capped at the total rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continuing to use our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
